This art work, belonging to the “Diván” collection, explores personal and family fears, as well as the imagination that surrounds them. On the floating platform, a divan with two seated beings represents ourselves or the family. Two little vichitos on each side symbolize the duality of fears. From the divan tree emerges a construction that resembles a tower, with modern windows that represent the different perspectives of fears. Inside the tower, blue lines and a strange ship suggest the complexity and confusion that often accompany our fears. In the landscape, rocks and trees stand as obstacles, while a faceless being, with a planetary appearance, represents the immensity and unreality of some of our fears. On the right, flying wooden animals add an element of surrealism, reminding us that our fears can often seem as strange as a fantasy.
